How DryMark Restoration Bellevue Was Born in Bellevue

We remember the exact morning we decided to bring DryMark to Bellevue. It was late 2011, and we were standing in a kitchen on 148th Avenue with water still dripping through a light fixture. The homeowner, a woman in her sixties who’d lived in the Crossroads neighborhood for thirty years, had already had two other companies out. One quoted her a price that made her hands shake. The other left a dehumidifier running for six days with no readings, no photos, and a bill she couldn’t send to her insurer because there was nothing to document what they’d actually done.

We were working for another outfit then, and our hands were tied by their process. We knew what the room needed: specific moisture readings, a clear drying plan, equipment sized to the actual cubic feet, and a written record that would turn into a paid claim instead of a fight. That morning, watching that woman decide whether to drain her savings or risk mold, we promised ourselves that when we had our own branch, we’d do it the DryMark way. Have it in writing. Evidence on every job. No surprises. We opened our doors in Bellevue the following spring.

Alicia Brennan’s Personal Connection to the Damage Restoration Trade

We didn’t stumble into this work. We were pulled into it by the smell of wet plaster and the particular silence of a house after a pipe has burst.

Back in 2009, we helped a tradesman who trained us on a job in Sammamish. A family had been out of town, their washing machine supply line had let go, and they’d come home to find their hardwood floors cupping like ocean waves. We spent three days in that house. The air smelled of earth and copper. The dehumidifiers hummed at a frequency that made your teeth ache after hour six. We learned to read a moisture meter the way you learn to read someone’s face: the resistance between the pins, the exact number that means “dry enough” versus “still wet inside where you can’t see.”

That job hooked us. Not the drama of it, but the precision. The fact that there was a right way to do it and a wrong way, and that the difference was measurable in grains per pound and percentage of moisture content. We started taking every course we could find, logging every job, building a file cabinet of drying logs that we still reference.

What gets us out of bed is the same thing that kept us up those first years: the knowledge that water keeps moving after everyone else has gone home. It wicks up drywall, it pools in subfloors, it finds the path of least resistance and sits there breeding mold while the homeowner sleeps. We’re the person who thinks about that at 2 AM, who shows up with the meter and the camera and the plan to stop it.

If we weren’t doing this, we’d probably be in some other trade where the work speaks for itself and the results outlast the conversation. Carpentry, maybe. Something where you can run your hand over the finished thing and know it’s right.

Meet Alicia Brennan - The Person Behind Every Job

We’re Alicia Brennan, Owner and Founder of DryMark Restoration Bellevue. We’ve spent the last fifteen years in this trade, starting with hands-on drying work and building to the point where we could bring the DryMark standard to our own city. We’re trained through RIA and IFA programs, and we’ve run jobs with Dri-Eaz and Phoenix equipment since before either brand dominated the market.

What separates us from a corporate technician is simple: we’re the one who answers when something goes sideways on a job. We’re the one who drives back to check a reading at 7 PM because the numbers didn’t look right in the morning. We’re also the person who spends Sunday mornings at the Bellevue Farmers Market, usually buying too many tomatoes and talking to neighbors about their remodels.

Our commitment to you is direct. When we say we’ll document what we found, we mean we’ll show you the photos ourselves and explain what they mean. When we say a written price before we start, we mean you’ll hold the paper in your hand and we’ll both sign it.

Our Promise to Bellevue Homeowners

Our values aren’t posters on a wall. They’re the three things we learned by breaking promises other companies made.

Honest pricing. We name the price range on the page, in dollars, because Clause 1 of the Haven Standard says “Have it in writing.” Every job we quote in Bellevue gets a flat price, a written scope, and a written warranty before anyone starts. We’ve seen too many homeowners open a final invoice and find charges that weren’t in the original conversation. That doesn’t happen here because the original conversation ends with a document you can hold.

Quality equipment and process. We use Dri-Eaz and Phoenix dehumidification systems sized to the actual space, not whatever’s on the truck. More importantly, we log daily moisture readings, room by room, signed and dated. That’s what turns a restoration invoice into a claim an insurer will pay without a fight. It’s also what lets us prove we hit the standard: dry is a measurable condition with a number attached, and getting back to it is the entire job.

Standing behind every job. If the readings don’t hit the target, we don’t pack up. We adjust, we re-scope, we document what changed. The Haven Standard requires evidence on every job, and that evidence belongs to you as much as to us.

Our Credentials

Our Credentials

Every pro working under our name is required to hold the license and insurance their state requires. Our branch is state-licensed, insured and bonded, and we maintain the documentation standards that Haven established when DryMark was founded in 2011. We carry a strong local reputation built job by job across Bellevue, Mercer Island, Sammamish, Redmond, Kirkland, Issaquah, Renton, Seattle, Tukwila, Bothell, SeaTac, and Kent.

Here’s why each credential matters when you’re letting someone into your home:

  • State-licensed: Washington requires specific training and examination for restoration contractors. A license means we’ve met that bar and remain accountable to the Department of Labor and Industries.
  • Insured and bonded: If something goes wrong in your home, you’re not relying on our personal assets or your own policy. The bond and liability coverage are there to make you whole.
  • Documented process: The Haven Standard means every restoration job is quoted in writing before it starts and leaves a documented record when we leave. For homeowners dealing with insurance, this is often the difference between a paid claim and a denied one.
  • Local experience: We know the building stock in Bellevue, from the mid-century ramblers in Newport Hills to the newer construction in Eastgate. Different eras, different materials, different drying challenges.

Rooted in Bellevue

We’re not from somewhere else pretending to be local. Our trucks are parked here. Our crew knows which streets flood first in a king tide and which Bellevue neighborhoods built before 1980 have the plaster-and-lath walls that dry differently than drywall.

We work across the Eastside and into Seattle, but Bellevue is where we started and where we live. You’ll find us at the downtown park on summer evenings, at the Crossroads farmers market on weekends, and driving the same roads our customers drive when a pipe lets go at midnight. We’re open Monday through Friday 7:30 AM to 7:30 PM, Saturday and Sunday 7:30 AM to 7:00 PM. When you call, you’ll reach a live coordinator who connects you with our local team.

12,000+ homes brought DryMark since 2011 - every one with a written price before we started, and a documented record when we left. We’re proud to carry that standard in Bellevue.
